THE FRENCH REVOLUTION
The slogan of the French Revolution form 1789 to 1799 was equality, freedom and brotherhood. The leaders of the Russian Revolution said, Everyone has the right to food, shelter and housing, if he becomes ill, he should be treated and education should be free for all.In fact, the movements and struggles of the past have laid the foundation for today's human rights.
The second world war, which lasted from 1939 to 1945, also shook human beings.More than 800 million people were killed in this war.
Human catastrophe shook the souls of human beings and the world came to the conclusion that war and destruction should be saved.
Therefore, almost all the nations of the world came together to form an institution called the United Nations.
Human and Humanity
UNITED NATIONS
Established on October 24, 1945GOALS:-
This organization has three goals- Establishing peace in the world
- Humans development
- Protection of human rights
There are two ways the UN worksa charter '' Principle'' that all states in the world must respect, but necessarily implement in their own countries. The second method is the ''Agreement'' (IE, when a state signs a principle,it is bound by an Agreement and is obliged to go to its own country and enforce it).
CHARACTERISTICS OF HUMAN RIGHTS
Human rights are universal, IE, it applies to all human beings in the world, whether they belong to any country and region. No one is outside the realm of human rights.Human rights cannot be transferred. It cannot be said that my share of rights should be given to my younger brother or parents should say that our share of rights should be given to our children. Human rights are indivisible.they cannot be broken down into smaller pieces. For example, if a woman has the right to inherit, then she will get this right. It cannot be justified that we give her a dowry or spend on her education, so her share in the inheritance will be less.
Human rights are interdependent. For example, if we believe in the right of children to education and the idea that they should go to school, we must also respect their right to food and health, because if children are not healthy, how would they go to school?
STATE REPONSIBILITIES REGARDING HUMAN RIGHTS
The primary responsibility for the provision of human rights lies with the state. The state has three responsibilities with regard to human rights.
- The state should respect the human rights of all the citizens.
- If an individual or group tries to snatch the human rights of other individuals or groups, the state should provide protection.
- Provide, where rights are not available.
NATIONAL SYSTEM FOR THE PROTECTION OF HUMAN RIGHTS
A system is set up in a country to protect human rights. The constitution of a country which is also called the supreme law of the country, it is an important document regarding human rights. The human rights protection system has four parts
- Constitutional and legal framework
- Efficient institutions (Parliament,Government,Judiciary,Government institutions and Human rights institutions).
