Human and Humanity VIOLENT EXTREMISM At first we verbally try to impose our opinions, ideas and beliefs on others, but if it doesn't work out, we also justify violence and this is called violent extremism. What is violence? Violence means using physical force to hurt, hit, beat, threaten, intimidate, force someone to do something. Violence is a substitute for persuasion, dialogue, listening, soft-spoken, respectful, principled, abiding by the law, and expressing one's views openly. Is violence appropriate? The answer is very simple. Would we like to be tortured? Would we like to torture any of our loved ones and elders? If our answer is no, then violence is inappropriate and wrong. Human and Humanity Do we want a violent society? Of course, our answer is no. If we do not want a violent society, then we have to learn how to build a peaceful society. A society that discourages violence, coercion and beatings. Where violence can be completely eradicated. Cases of violent extrem
