PEACE / CONFLICT
REASONS AND SOLUTIONS
What are conflicts?
We are surrounded by people of different identities whose language, caste, community beliefs, gender, political and social ideologies may differ from one another. Different people living in the same place can disagree on many issues. Sometimes this disagreement is based on ideas but sometimes it is also based on interests. If these differences are not resolved in time, these differences turn into violent conflicts, which do not bode well for the peace of any society. Most people think that conflicts are always negative and always manifest in the form of fights and riots. Conflicts, when manifested in a negative way, really spread violence, chaos and destruction. But these differences make us think positively. They can provide style and bring about social, economic and political change in our lives.
What is peace?
If you ask this question to anyone, the immediate answer will be that the absence of war is a sign of peace. This answer seems to be correct but in today's world the definition of peace has changed a lot and its scope has been widened.
If we combine peace with truth, we can say that in a country, society and community, if people have enough to eat, they are getting adequate education and health facilities, they have employment opportunities. If political, social and economic stability and justice are available, then we will say that it is a peaceful country, society or community.
Human and Humanity
Education, health, employment and economic stability are also rights, and a guarantee of peace in a society.
If we try to understand the needs of human beings, then the most important need in their needs is peace and tranquility. From its inception till today, human beings have been wandering in search of peace and happiness . The biggest fear is insecurity.
Today we are surrounded by hunger, poverty and deprivation. Social and economic justice is non-existent. The feeling of deprivation of rights among the people is becoming more and more severe. As a result, their anger is increasing and their tolerance is decreasing, which is being exploited by extremist forces.
For these reasons, our peace is under constant threat. If there is a threat to peace, there will be no social, political and economic stability. We must constantly strive to protect peace from threats, Because peace efforts are not part-time but full-time.
There are two aspects to peace efforts, number one is conflict prevention and number two is improving the factors and conditions that lead to conflict.
Living in a society we can be part of different groups. We may speak a particular language, belong to a particular religion or sect, or be part of a social or political group. Such differences are called inter group differences. These natural differences sometimes turn into conflicts and such conflicts are called inter-group conflicts. Just as there are conflicts between individuals and groups, there are also conflicts between states, which we call interstate conflicts. But there can also be conflicts within the state itself, which will be called internal conflicts of the state.
TYPES OF CONFLICTS:-
Conflict is actually something connected with life. As long as man is alive, he faces conflict at some level. It is a different matter how we deal with this conflict, and how we resolve it better.
There are many types of conflicts. Here we will mention some of them
PERSONAL CONFLICT:-
This is a conflict that everyone feels at some point, and he has to find a solution for himself. For example,
- You have to go somewhere and you want to be well dressed. Sometimes what you wear becomes a controversy. The mind wants to wear one suit and the heart the other suit and then after much deliberation when you finally decide what to wear, you overcome the conflict that arises within you.
Similarly, we often face various small disputes, for example,
- If you like two different subjects, it can be a dispute, which subject to take admission in the university. Sometimes we face similar conflicts in terms of employment and we often face conflicts in the choice of spouse.
These are all conflicts that have to do with our own selves and only we can resolve them. If anyone other than us gets involved in this conflict, it will be called interpersonal conflict.
