SEVEN WAYS TO IMPROVE CRITICAL THINKING

  1. Don't take anything for granted

The first step in critical thinking is to take a good look at what you hear, what you read, and what you plan to do.So do something just because you've always done it.And instead of accepting everything as true, just think about it for a while. What is the problem? What are the possible solutions? What are the pros and cons? You have to make a decision anyway, but if you take a look at them, you will definitely make a better decision.

2.Review the background of the events

We see and hear advertisements of mobile companies every day, that this package is cheap. Take this package and you will get more facilities in it than before. The question that comes to mind is, that the job of commercial companies is to make maximum profit. Why do they want to harm their company by providing us cheap facilities. This is a good question and we are asking because we want to know the interest or intention of the mobile company.Because the claims they make, do not appear to be true. From where the information is coming is a very important aspect of critical thinking. Sometimes it is easy to know but often it is not so easy to know. Knowing the sources of your information and finding out the interests behind these sources is a very important aspect of critical thinking.

  3.Do research

Today we get a lot of information from various sources (print, electronic media, internet and social media) on a daily basis. Which we can use as a very powerful weapon. If we need to solve a problem, make a decision or review a point of view, click the Google button and start researching about it. The more information about the topic, the better you will be able to find solutions to your problems.

  4.Raise a question

We are prevented from raising questions from childhood.  The elders at home do not allow questions to be raised.Teachers do not allow questions to be asked in class. We destroy our children's ability to ask questions in their early years. Knowing is very important for all of us and an important way to know is to ask questions. The answers we receive as a result of our various questions. Sometimes they open a new door for us.We need to know more than one approach and method to solve our problems.

  5.Don't assume you're always right

It is very difficult to accept the fact that we can be wrong.Man always thinks of himself as right, it satisfies our ego.But it is not always right to think critically about oneself. If you do not value the other person's point of view, don' think about their point of view, and don't compare your point of view with your own point of view, then you will not be using critical thinking.

6.Think of dividing the whole into parts

It's great to see a big picture of a problem, but it's even better to see and understand all the components of the problem. Some problem are difficult to solve at once, so they are easier to solve if they are broken down into smaller pieces. This method so usually used by scientists. To understand a larger system, they first analyze the smaller components of the system, how each component works, and how they relate to each other. Then they understand the big picture.

  7.Find simple solutions

Always look for simple solutions instead of difficult ones.Give a simple explanation that reveals all the facts.Critical thinking is not an easy path. We change our old ideas as a result of new information. Sometimes we get upset about it, but if you think about it, it's a very interesting game.

USE OF CRITICAL THINKING

We should always ask ourselves the following questions before giving a final opinion or decision on any issue.
  • What is the purpose of our thinking ?
  • How are we thinking ?
  • What principles drive our thinking ?
  • What assumptions have we made for considerations ?
  • What data, facts and observations are we basing our thinking on ?
  • How we interpret our information ?
  • What have we carefully considered ?
  • What effect will these results have on our behavior, attitudes and actions ?
