THEORY OF CONFLICT / HUMAN NEEDS
Experts in this theory believe that all individuals and groups have basic human needs. In the past, bread, clothing and shelter were considered basic human needs, but over time, the scope of basic human needs has expanded. It also includes the physical, psychological and spiritual needs of human beings. Imagine for a second you were transposed into the karmic driven world of Earl. There were no windows in that room. Vegetables, lentils and water are provided. Maybe these things are enough for the survival of human life. Are these facilities enough for human happiness? If your answer is no, then what are the other things that you need to live?
According to this theory, if the basic needs of human beings are not met and they are constantly deprived, then conflicts arise and sometimes these conflicts turn into violence.
According to conflict theorists in human relations, the interests of individuals and groups differ from each other. Conflicts arise in human relationships based on these differences. A good example of this is the conflicts that arise on the basis of gender. Because men and women are fundamentally different from each other, their way of looking at things is also different from each other. If these differences are not understood in the right context, these differences can lead to conflicts. Because historically there has been an imbalance of power between men and women in society. The common perception is that if a woman talks about her rights, the balance of society will be upset. Can only be maintained by subjugation. If more than half of the country's population is not given equal status in the fields of education, health, employment and rights, then there will be discrimination and prejudice on the basis of gender and this discrimination will take the form of a permanent crisis in society.
Some ideologist believe that the causes of conflict are political. According to them, different groups and individuals in a state keep trying to dominate each other. Most of them think that if they eliminate or paralyze their opponents, their access to power will be possible. This race for power also gives rise to disputes. Conflicts based on political reasons fail state, It is the result of abuse of power and bad governance.
Some theorists who view conflicts in terms of evolution and change say that conflicts are the result of injustice and inequality in systems and structures. Lack of justice and equality leads to a demand for change in society. Demands for change are resisted by the existing system and its institutions, and this resistance leads to controversy.
CONFLICT ANALYSIS
There are several elements to any conflict
Core problem or issue
This is the real issue that forms the basis of the conflict between individuals, groups or states.
Individuals or parties
Proponents and opponents of the parties to the dispute, etc.
It is important to find answers to a few basic questions in order to analyze the parties.
- Who is benefiting from this conflict?
- Who is being harmed by this conflict?
- Who is complaining the most about it?
- Who has the power to resolve disputes?
- Who is the primary and secondary party to the dispute? ( The first is the one between whom the dispute started and the second is the one who later became part of the dispute).
- What is the relationship between the parties?
- What is the political, social and economic status of the parties?
- How important a party is in terms of conflict prevention and resolution, etc.
Human and Humanity
A dispute can be resolved as soon as it arises. It is good that conflicts do not arise, but if some steps are taken to prevent conflicts and prevent them from turning into violent conflicts, we can avoid many losses.
